Flight Status

passport covers

Do my socks match? Was this silver metal briefcase really the way to go? Should I have shaved? Such are the anxieties of the well-traveled man in the age of heightened airport security. But one way to make a convincing "no need to escort me to the interrogation room" impression is with a polished passport cover, which may convey instant credibility at check-in. Valextra and John Lobb play it smooth, while Bottega Veneta and Etro finish strong in cross-woven and embossed leather, respectively. Jack Spade's version is trimmed in red, but does not signal danger. As indestructible as the document itself tends to be, a cover can seem superfluous. But when even a baby bottle is construed as a threat, why take chances?
